Who signs up
A team is signed up by its captain or manager — they also check in and withdraw the entry. In a 1v1 tournament every player signs up themselves.
Requirements
The Requirements section on the tournament page shows what the tournament needs:
- a linked game account — every player in the submitted roster must have it in their player passport; the coach and manager do not play, so they do not need one;
- age — a tournament with an age limit needs your date of birth in your profile;
- roster size — the team must have as many players as the game mode requires.
Official tournaments are free — there is no entry fee.
VAC and Game Bans
In an official tournament in a Steam game, an entry with a player whose Steam account has a VAC or Game Ban from the last 2 years waits for staff review. Steam does not say which game the ban concerns, so the staff checks the Steam profile and approves or rejects the entry with a justification. Until then, the entry cannot check in. A rejection can be appealed. More: Player passport.
When sign-up fails
The platform tells you exactly what is missing and usually links to the place where you can fix it. The most common reasons:
- a player without a linked game account;
- no date of birth for a tournament with an age limit;
- the roster is too small;
- an active penalty in the “Tournaments” scope — see How to appeal a penalty;
- no free slots and no room on the waitlist.
Withdrawing an entry
You can withdraw with the Withdraw entry button on the tournament page until the bracket is generated. After the start, a withdrawal is reported to the referee, because it is settled by a walkover. Withdrawals after the draw count towards automatic penalties.
