Statuses
The status is calculated from dates and the state of the bracket — nobody types it in by hand.
- Soon — the tournament is published, registration has not started yet.
- Registration open — there are free slots.
- Waitlist — slots are taken, you can join the waitlist.
- Check-in — the check-in window is open.
- Live — the bracket has started.
- Finished — results and the podium are in.
Formats
- Single elimination — the loser is out.
- Double elimination — after the first loss a team drops to the lower bracket, after the second it is out.
- Swiss system — a fixed number of rounds, pairs matched by record; ties in the table are broken by Buchholz, among others.
- Round robin and group stages — a points table.
- Groups and playoffs — groups or Swiss first, then a bracket.
Each stage can have its own match format (Bo1, Bo3, Bo5). The format is shown on the tournament page and the match page.
The double elimination grand final
A tournament may give the upper bracket team a one-map advantage at the start of the grand final, or provide a reset if the lower bracket team wins the final. The rules of a given tournament are under the Rules tab.
Byes
When there are fewer participants than places in the bracket, some of them get a bye — advancing without a match. A bye does not count towards your record or statistics.
