How to appeal a penalty

What you can appeal

Every penalty (including one applied automatically) and every moderation decision about your content: a hidden message, a closed post, a community tournament or bracket taken down. Appeals are free.

Where

The notification about the decision leads to the decision page with its reasons and an Appeal button. An active penalty is also on your profile, in the Penalty history section, with the same button. A bracket owner without an account finds the appeal link on the page of the taken-down bracket.

How to write an appeal

The minimum is 20 characters, but what counts is the content, not the length. Give facts:

  • the match number (e.g. M14) and time;
  • what happened on your side;
  • evidence — a screenshot, a link to a recording, a demo.

An appeal without facts (“this is unfair”) usually ends with the penalty upheld.

What happens next

The appeal goes as a ticket to the Abuse and safety desk and is reviewed by a person from the platform team. The penalty is either upheld or revoked — the decision and its reason will arrive in the appeal thread under My tickets, together with a notification. A revoked penalty disappears from your profile.

Until the decision, the penalty stays in force — an appeal does not suspend it.

A ban in the “Portal” scope

With a portal ban you cannot log in. The email with the decision has an Appeal link that works without logging in for 180 days from the decision. After that, write to the Account and player passport desk on the contact page — no login needed — and give your nickname and the account's email address.

Outside the platform

Regardless of the appeal, you can take the matter to a court of law.
